The Masters Sweep Program is offered at Thompson Boat Center for individuals who have previous sweep rowing and community and recreational experience. To be able to compete as a master, an individual must be at least 27 years of age, although this is not required for participation in the TBC masters program. TBC masters rowers vary in age from mid-twenties to 50+ years of age.

Competitions include local races such as the Crab Feast Regatta, The Head of The Potomac and away races such as The Royal Canadian Henley, Diamond States Masters, Masters Nationals and The Head of The Charles. For schedule of tentative races go to the Thompson Boat Center Calendar section.

All TBC community and recreational program rowers must be members of USRowing to participate in USRowing events.

All rowers competing in away racing competition must sign a waiver (61KB/2 pgs) before being allowed to join TBC racing programs. Coxswains are not required to pay for program participation but are also required to sign a waiver.

Sign-up begins March and can be paid and made following registration directions below. Phone reservations are not accepted.

For more specific information on each program, please contact Scott Gordon, Director of Rowing, at 202-333-9543, ext. 0 or email
